Losing your keys can be incredibly frustrating and stressful, especially if you are locked out of your home, car, or business. Fortunately, locksmiths are here to help you in these types of situations and can provide a range of services to ensure the safety and security of your property.

By offering a variety of key solutions in Orlando, a locksmith is able to meet your needs, no matter what they may be. Here are just some of the different solutions a locksmith can provide:

Key Cutting – This service is when your locksmith creates spare keys for all your locks.

Lock Installation & Repair – Locksmiths have the technical expertise and tools necessary to ensure that your property stays safe and secure.

Security Upgrades – If you are concerned about the security of your property, a locksmith can assist you by providing high-security locks, access control systems, and CCTV cameras tailored to your specific needs.

Emergency Lockout Services – Losing your keys or locking yourself out of your car, home, or business can be a stressful experience. A locksmith can help you get back inside. These emergency lockout services are usually available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Key Fob Replacement – Locksmiths can replace modern key fobs to ensure that you can continue to access your vehicle seamlessly.

Gain Protection Against Thieves with High-Security Locks

Commercial LocksmithYou want your home and business property to be as safe as possible at all times. Adding high-security locks is one of the most effective and straightforward steps you can take to meet this goal.

As a locksmith in Orlando at Arrow Locksmith & Door Company, we know all about the value of adding robust locks to your building. We’ll discuss that topic in this blog post.

It’s important to remember that the softer the target is from a thief’s standpoint, the more likely it is to be hit. Thieves do not want to spend a lot of time breaking into a location because that increases the risk of getting caught. They want a quick in and out scenario. Having high-security locks installed by a locksmith will go a long way toward thwarting the intentions of even the most persistent burglar.

High-security locks are constructed of sturdy materials and are very difficult to pick or bypass. They are made to be drill-resistant while also fitting easily into most commercial hardware. The best locks also come with “do not duplicate” keys so that an unauthorized individual cannot just simply take one to a hardware store or locksmith and have a key made. Many high-security locks also come with electronic components that make it even more challenging for any thief to defeat them.

The Benefits of Choosing a Locksmith for Car Key Replacements

Car Key ReplacementLosing the keys to your car can be a major headache as well as an unexpected expense. Car keys are no longer a simple replacement; they require specialized programming specific to your vehicle. While your dealership can replace lost or stolen keys, they are not the only option. Locksmiths offer convenient car key replacement services for Orlando drivers and those services are often less than what a dealer would charge.

Avoid Dealership Upcharges
While convenient, smart keys and fobs are an expensive innovation. Save some money and avoid the dealership. They may know a lot about your car model, but they also charge a lot for that knowledge and your replacement parts.

Your Locksmith is a Call Away
When stuck without a way to start your car, you need help quickly. Your dealership will not come to you, which means you must find a way to get your vehicle to them. Chances are you will also need an appointment, which means more delays. Instead, call your local locksmith and enjoy prompt car key replacement services.

Modern technology is wonderful until we run into an issue. Fortunately, the skilled technicians that are locksmiths are ready to get you back behind the wheel.

When it is Time to Replace the Lock on Your House

Locksmith in OrlandoYou have every right to believe that locking the doors to your home means that your personal safety, property, and belongings are secure. However, there are several reasons to consider replacing the exterior locks on your house. When it is time to make the switch, talk to an experienced Orlando locksmith about your options.

Moving to a New Home
When you move into a new house or apartment, you never know who has a copy of the keys. You will enjoy more peace of mind by changing the locks.

A Relationship Change
Regardless of how your relationship ended, removing accessibility from someone who no longer lives there is an important step to moving forward with your life.

Lost or Stolen Keys
If you lose your keys or they get stolen, your home is now wide open to whoever has or finds them. Reach out to a locksmith right away to protect your family and possessions.

Wear & Tear
Just like any mechanism, locks wear down with time and use. If you find yourself fighting to turn the key or the handle seems loose, it is time to call in the experts to upgrade your lock.

Your doors are your primary protection against unauthorized access to your home and it pays to have a professional locksmith install the proper locks to meet your needs.

The New Arrow Locksmith shop

Hurricane Charley barreled through Central Florida on August 14th 2004 and Arrow Locksmith in Orlando took a direct hit along with many of our neighbors in the Central Florida community. Hurricane Charley took our roof; we needed a new shop and fast! Wanting to to stay local to the Pinecastle area we began searching for a new shop. Fortunately one of the property managers that we did work for mentioned a place they had available less than a mile away on South Orange Avenue near Oak Ridge Road. We took one look and quickly made the move to our new and much improved shop.

Arrow Locksmith new shop.

Arrow Locksmith new location at 6004 S. Orange Avenue in Orlando.

We have now been at this location for 14 years and the added space has allowed us to expand our inventory as well as our showroom greatly. The old shop allowed room to display a couple of small safes and very little else. Our new shop has about 20 safes at any one time on display as well as commercial and residential locking hardware and a huge range of custom keys and accessories.

We have much more room to stock just about any lock or door hardware for our commercial and residential customers. We stock door closers, panic bars, commercial lever sets in all functions in both grade 1 and grade 2, residential locks, padlocks for just about any application, file cabinet and desk locks, glass storefront locks, cylinders, pivots, push paddles, mailbox locks …

Turning Back The Clock To 1986

Arrow Locksmith and Door Company in Orlando was founded back in early 1979. This coming February, Arrow Locksmith will celebrate 40 years in business, proudly serving customers in Orlando, Kissimmee, Winter Park and the wider Central Florida region with top quality locksmith service. We have always had a real store where customers could bring their locks to us to save on service call charges or browse locking hardware and safes. I thought it might be interesting to look back at our old shop on West Oak Ridge Road back in 1986.

Wow these photos bring back some fond memories. I was in my third year working at Arrow Locksmith and Door Company where I learned the locksmith trade as an apprentice. I am still here 35 years later! I still have customers stop in the shop to chat about the old days and why they have been loyal customers for over 35 years. The old green and white Dodge van in the photo was my service vehicle, before that we had brand new Hyundai Excels and prior to that I had to suffer driving a Chevrolet Chevette with a bad shifter!

Looking at the service and dispatch area of Arrow Locksmith Service circa 1986.

Above you can see a couple of views of the interior. The old shop on West Oak Ridge Road was tiny and cramped, unlike our spacious new shop on South Orange Avenue just one block south of Oak Ridge Road. I say new, we actually moved in 2004 after Hurricane Charley ripped the roof off.

The first photo shows the key board with our key cutting machines in front. The two machines to the left are still in almost daily use in our current shop! The second photo shows the dispatch and small service area. When I was not out running service calls I would be perched up on that raised section behind the three phones. We used to use 2 way radios to communicate with the locksmiths in the field, no cell phones or computers back then. Now it would be hard to imagine life without them.

Arrow Locksmith Service has come a long way in 40 years, always working to keep up with the latest technology in the security field. We are proud that we have been able to serve the community for all of these years and hope to keep providing locksmith service in Central Florida for many years to come.
